Innokin Endura T18-X

The Innokin T18-X is the latest addition to the Endura range, the go-to all-in-one kits loved by beginners and seasoned vapers alike. The newest member of the Innokin family arrives in a number of flashy new colours, but with a bunch of brilliant starter kits already on the market, does this one do enough to stand out among its peers? Let’s take a look…

Unboxing the T18-X

Innokin recently committed to making all of its packaging eco-friendly, so the device arrives in a compact, fully recyclable cardboard box alongside a couple of paper sachets that contain a replacement coil, a spare O-ring and a wider drip tip. Not a plastic bag or cellophane wrapper in sight, so it’s great to see Innokin staying true to its promise of going greener.

The inside of the box also contains the usual user-friendly instructions to help familiarise the owner with the workings of their new device. Information on how to operate the device, fill up your tank and charge up the unit is available at a glance, and it’s all included on the reverse of the packaging as opposed to using additional pieces of paper, earning Innokin a few more planet-saving brownie points!

Once we’ve opened the packaging and taken the device out of the box, what’s our first impression? Well, it’s a looker that’s for sure! Arriving in a range of vibrant metallic colours, the T-18-X is another stylish addition to Innokin’s Endura range.

Created in the mould of the Innokin T18E and T18II, aside from the attractive new colours, aesthetically-speaking not a lot has changed since the previous models. So what’s the difference then, and why should you opt for this one over the tried and tested earlier models? First let’s take a look at what you get on the Innokin T18-X and then we’ll see what’s changed since previous versions.

Familiar features

As with earlier models, one of the Innokin Endura T18-X’s biggest plus points is most certainly its ease-of-use. Simple to set up and requiring minimal maintenance, it’s a great starter kit for those who are new to the world of vaping or even seasoned vapers who prefer a straight-forward and uncomplicated kit.

Made from stainless steel, the Innokin T18-X is tough and durable, however its sleek design means it’s not too big or clunky in your pocket. Indeed, its compact, pen-style design is ideal if you’re on the move or you’re just not a fan of carrying larger devices around.

Along with the stylish body we’ve come to expect from any model in the Endura range, you also get a 2ml tank that’s both easy to refill and requires very little upkeep.

The device is powered by a long-lasting 1000mAh battery that once fully charged should last the entire duration of the day. Nonetheless, even if your battery unexpectedly runs out then you won’t have to wait until it’s charged to use it again as the model is armed with Innokin’s ‘Vape While Charging’ technology allowing you to use your device even when it’s on charge.

Upgrades on previous models

Unlike previous iterations, the Innokin T18-X is charged using a USB Type-C power lead, which carries a range of benefits. For starters, USB Type-C supports USB Power Delivery, a fast-charging standard that can deliver up to 100w of power and charge your device up to 20-times faster than a basic micro-USB. This increased speed means you won’t have to wait around for what can feel like forever for your vape to charge up.

In all honesty, alongside the new colours, that’s pretty much all that’s changed since previous models. Unlike the T18II, there’s no adjustable airflow and you’re unable to alter the heat of the vapour. The magnetic cap that goes on the end of the T18II’s drip tip to prevent leakage is also absent.

Considering this, with less features the Innokin T18-X is closer to the original T18E, but with the Type-C charge port it most certainly has the beating of its peers in the charging department.

So what’s the verdict?

As ever, this is a great release from Innokin and it’ll no doubt go down as another excellent starter kit for beginners or more experienced vapers who like things made simple. If you’re already the owner of the T18II then in truth there’s probably no reason to trade that in as this model has less features  and the only real advantage is the Type-C charge port. However, for people new to vaping who are after a great starter kit that’s well-built, charges quickly and offers great value for money then the Innokin Endura T18-X ticks all of the right boxes and is definitely worth considering.
