Vape Juice Ratios Explained
There are two common ratios people discuss when it comes to vaping, 50/50 and 70/30. The ratios relate to the amount of the amount of PG (PROPYLENE GLYCOL) and VG (VEGETABLE GLYCERIN) that is contained within the e-liquid.
VG is the element which creates the vapour clouds you exhale, whilst PG is the base for the e-liquid itself.
Whether you prefer a PG or a VG ratio e-liquid will largely depend on your personal preference. PG heavy vape juice is thinner and more suited to smaller capacity e-cigarette types, it also produces a closer experience to smoking so is often favoured by recent switchers. A vape with a larger VG content will produce greater vape clouds and by thicker in its consistency so probably require a more powerful e-cigarette.
The ratios you hear mentioned when people talk about vaping or e-liquid are simply the percentage of each component contained. A 50/50 e-liquid ratio means there is an equal mix of PG and VG. A 70/30 ratio e-liquid has a 70% VG content and a 30% PG content which gives you big clouds of vapour.
