Standard Nicotine vs Nicotine Salts
Both of these products go through a separate procedure, but the main difference in e-liquid is that salt nicotine is much smoother than freebase nicotine. This enables vapers to vape higher e-liquid concentrations without suffering the characteristic throat hit associated with standard, freebase nicotine.
What Exactly Are Nic Salts?
Simply put, nicotine salts are E-liquids that contain a 'new' type of nicotine that is inhaled more smoothly and absorbed by the body faster. Salt Nic is made from nicotine salts found naturally in tobacco leaves but without the use of harsh chemicals.
Rather than extracting the salts and then enhancing their strength with ammonia, natural acids are used, which react with the nicotine salts, changing their chemical composition. Rather than employing harsh chemicals to boost nicotine's PH levels, the reaction with natural acid actually lowers PH levels, allowing the body to absorb nicotine salts at far lower temperatures. As a result, the throat hit is more smoother.
What Are Freebase/Standard Nicotine?
Over 50 years ago, Marlboro created freebase nicotine as a method of distributing nicotine in cigarettes in a much faster and more efficient manner. Freebase nicotine is made by raising the PH levels of nicotine salts with ammonia, which means it is absorbed faster by the lungs when combusted (when you burn the tobacco).
When compared to smoking traditional tobacco, this is refined nicotine in its purest form (thereby the name freebase) and delivers higher levels of nicotine in a more effective manner. While nicotine is easily absorbed by the lungs, the higher the nicotine concentration, the more difficult the sensation on your throat when you inhale.
Are Nicotine Salts Better Than Standard Nicotine?
The answer is that nicotine salts are equal to freebase nicotine. Salt nicotine is no more risky than regular nicotine in terms of safety.
