As a general rule of thumb, you should use 50/50 vape juice and nic salts with vape pens, starter kits, and pod devices, and 70/30 e-liquids with any vape that contains a Sub-Ohm coil (a coil with less resistance than 1 ohm) and boosts a high power wattage! How to Choose a Vape KitÂ
The type of e-cig or vape kit you need depends largely on what sort of vaper you are or the vape you prefer. If you prefer a 50/50 e-liquid, you can use any starter or pod device. Whereas if you prefer a 70/30 vape juice you will need a sub-ohm kit.
Lucky for you, we stock a wide range of vaping devices suitable for all vapers. From the new vaper starting out to the seasoned vaper looking for specific vape mods, we have you covered. If you're new to vaping, you can read our complete beginner's guide on how to vape to get up to speed.

What is Included in a Vape Kit?
Each vape kit contains almost everything you need to get started. The only thing you'll most likely be missing is your vape juice. Each product description and device manual will advise you on the recommended ratio. Every vape kit includes a battery unit, a tank or pod, and a charging wire. Nevertheless, some of the more advanced kits lack a built-in battery, so you'll also need to buy a battery and an external charger and get yourself educated on battery safety!
Difference Between a Pod Kit, Pen Kit, and Sub-Ohm Kit
It can be overwhelming choosing your first vape, especially when there are different subcategories of vapes! We'll briefly break down each type of vape kit so you can choose the best one for you:

Pod DeviceÂ
Pod kits are an all-in-one system, the battery is built in, and they usually only have one button to fire or an automatic draw, the only thing you will need is replacement pods. The pods have their built-in coil, so all you need to do is fill it up with e-liquid and change the pod when it's finishing its lifespan! These are the most straightforward vape kits, hassle-free, and easy for beginners to get started with vaping! These kits are also specifically crafted for nicotine salt e-liquids, so if you’re after bold flavours without the customisation hassle, vape pod kits will be suited for you.Â
Lately, Vaporesso and OXVA have been leading the way with their pod kit innovations!
Vape Pens
Pen-style kits are one type of e-cigarette, named after its pen shape, they are often slender in design and easy to use. Vape pens are powered by an internal battery and feature a mouthpiece with a single button for turning the device on and off as well as firing up the vape. They will occasionally need to be cleaned and the coil changed, but these are minor trade-offs given their increased versatility and overall cost savings over other kits.
Â
Innokin is one vape manufacturer who is known to design flavour-boosting pen kits!

Sub Ohm Kit
For the highly experienced vaper who wants to adopt a direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping technique, sub-ohm vape kits are the perfect way to go. Since they produce a lot more vapour, they are only advised for lower nicotine concentrations. With features like adjustable airflow, temperature control, variable wattage, and a variety of coil resistance options, advanced kits typically offer a great degree of customisation. Due to their high-powered mechanics, these kits are perfect for 70/30 e-liquid. Similar to pen kits, they do require more frequent maintenance than a pod system.
For Beginner Vapers
For beginner vapers, we always recommend a pod kit, whether this is an open one or a closed one. Open pod kits are refillable vapes that allow you to customise your flavour experience, may have a few buttons for airflow, flavour modes or a fire button, and are relatively easy to use.
Â
Closed pod kits are prefilled kits, these feature cartridges that are prefilled with a chosen e-liquid flavour. These are very simple to use, with no extra buttons or vaping customisations, just simply swap the prefilled pod once it’s empty, with a new one!
Â
We would recommend an open pod kit for beginners though, it is more cost-effective to buy e-liquid and refill, rather than buying the prefilled pods constantly. You will also have more control over your flavour choices and vaping style.Â
