Environmental impact
A major drawback of disposables and one that’s putting many of our more eco-conscious vapers off is their potential environmental impact. Made from robust plastic and containing batteries that can leak chemicals into the environment, the single-use units are difficult to recycle.
As time goes on and more focus is placed on the damage disposables may do to the environment, hopefully manufacturers will look to produce their throw-away vapes using more eco-conscious materials, which should help them become greener.
Costly
As we touched on earlier, the unit cost of disposables is far less than that of traditional devices, but keep in mind these throw-aways are designed to last only a couple of days at most.
Most disposables are loaded with around 2ml of liquid, giving the user a minimum of 500-600 puffs, but while this is certainly a generous amount, you’ll need to purchase several units or buy a new device every couple of days making disposables more expensive than other devices.
If you’re in search of the most cost-effective vaping device then you should probably look elsewhere, as sadly disposables won’t offer the best value for money.
Not an effective way to quit smoking completely
If you’re serious about quitting smoking, then getting a good quality kit is the most effective method of achieving your aim. Disposables are a great stop-gap if you’ve run out of battery or liquid whilst you’re out and about, however, you’re more likely to purchase a pack of cigarettes when given the choice between traditional tobacco and a disposable at your local shop.
Fewer options
Although the list of flavours has certainly expanded since disposable vapes first hit the market, choice is still pretty limited compared to the range of options on offer when you purchase a regular vape kit.
